Sutro Basin & Drainage Improvement Project

Carson City Public Works is dedicated to providing support to the flood-prone Garnet Street and Sutro Terrace neighborhood in North Carson City. The Sutro Basin and Drainage Improvement Project includes enhancing storm drain infrastructure throughout the neighborhood and construction of a detention basin on the hillslope above. These improvements have been designed to effectively capture runoff from a 10-year storm event, thereby benefiting up to 240 homes.
