Civil Engineer

Resource Concepts, Inc. (RCI) is accepting applications for licensed project and senior-level civil engineers.

Applicants shall be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Nevada with a minimum of two years of experience in site development and utility design, have a keen understanding of budgets and deadlines, be motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collectively. California PE licensure is a plus.

The position is best suited for someone seeking a career in general site development. Work will involve permitting, design and construction management throughout northern Nevada, northern California and Lake Tahoe.

Survey Party Chief

Resource Concepts, Inc. (RCI) is accepting applications for a Survey Party Chief. The ideal candidate will have five years minimum field experience, with a strong emphasis in site development that includes topographic and boundary surveys, and construction staking. We are looking for a self-motivated individual that possesses strong leadership and survey skills, and the desire to train and help grow field personnel. Knowledge of Trimble GPS and Total Stations is required along with a working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center. Possession of an FAA 107 Pilots License is a plus. This position affords the opportunity for growth in all aspect of field and office surveying.

Primary responsibilities include being in charge of the collection of all daily field data and mentoring field survey personnel.  The position is structured for a highly motivated team-oriented individual with strong attention to detail, professional and ethical representation of RCI, and an understanding of project schedules and budgets.

Survey Mapping Technician

Resource Concepts, Inc. (RCI) is accepting applications for a Survey Mapping Technician. The ideal candidate will have two years minimum experience with Civil 3D, and a knowledge of survey mapping. Being able to perform standard survey calculations is a plus. We are looking for a competent, self-motivated individual who is also interested in learning new aspects of land surveying while working under the direction of senior staff.

This position is structured for an Individual who understands the importance of following existing AutoCAD and company standards, while also contributing to the development of new standards that help maximize efficiency. This position will afford the opportunity to work with field staff in office and occasionally in the field in order to develop a deeper knowledge of the data collection process.

Water Rights Technician 1

Are you an individual who takes pride in delivering exceptional work? RCI is an established civil engineering and environmental resources firm, with our main office located in the historic district of Carson City, Nevada. We offer a collaborative and supportive environment, allowing you to perform at your best. The work we do is interesting, challenging and wide-ranging in nature, and so is our client base.

RCI has an immediate opportunity for a full time Water Rights Technician 1. Your duties are not limited to, but will include:

Organization of Project Files: The organization of paperwork (forms, letters, proposals, emails, and maps) is done in two formats – digital and hard copy, you will be creating and maintaining these files.

Tickler: Our client’s water rights are tracked through an Excel spreadsheet.  This spreadsheet contains all active applications, permitted, and certificated water rights on file with the Nevada Division of Water Resources (NDWR) for our clients. Your job is to maintain this spreadsheet, update as requested, and generate a “Monthly Tickler” 90 days in advance.

Calendar: RCI’s water right wall calendar is a visualization of the water right tickler. Your role is to manage updates to this calendar – ensuring its accuracy and updating data as requested.

Document Runner: RCI regularly hand-delivers water rights documents to the Nevada Division of Water Resources.

Processing: One of the primary roles as a Water Rights Technician is processing all paperwork submitted to NDWR. Your part is to scan the timestamped submittal, update the tickler with the pertinent information, save the document to the appropriate client folder, and distribute the copies to the project manager via email.

Pumpage: Pumpage reports are essential in Water Rights. They help us keep track of water use and progress toward perfecting our clients’ permits. Your role is to keep track of which clients report pumpage figures, update the appropriate spreadsheets, and prepare quarterly submittals to NDWR.

30-60-90 Due Date Reports: Select clients receive monthly due date reports from RCI.  Your role is to provide the project manager a draft 30-60-90 Report on the 21st of each month.

Efficiency: Most Water Rights Department projects are billed on a Time and Material basis. Efficiency is paramount to ensure that a project is appropriately managed, and that the client receives the best service at the best cost.

Adaptation: The ability to pivot quickly and change tasks is an unavoidable and necessary part of working in this department. Being flexible is a vital trait of success.
