Water Rights Service for More Than 25 Years
In addition to ski area engineering and surveying service, RCI has managed and maintained Heavenly’s Nevada water rights for over 25 years. This work includes original filings for both surface and ground water sources, maintenance and administration of permits and regular filings for rights involving two states and two separate hydrographic basins.
Complex Water System to Serve Snowmaking
Heavenly has an extremely well-managed, but very complex water system, which is supplied by multiple sources to serve its snowmaking and municipal needs.
Permits, Monitoring and Reporting Requirements Are Met
Keeping the permits in good standing, monitoring and reporting water distribution and usage to the Nevada State Engineer requires careful consideration with Heavenly staff to ensure that the terms of the water permits are met, and the reporting and monitoring requirements are met. With the recent approval of the Truckee River Operating Agreement (TROA), another layer of monitoring and water rights administration has been added.
