Water System Improvements
RCI has completed numerous water system improvement projects, including transmission and distribution line design, booster pump station design, water tank facilities design, and well development and design. Currently, we are working with the Town of Minden (Town) to upgrade the existing 3” steel waterlines in select areas of the older part of Minden in an effort to systematically replace all of the steel lines originally installed in 1905. Another current project is the completion of the test well and production well (Well #11) and the design of the pumping facilities for Well #11 at the Bently Heritage project.
Multiple Agency Coordination
We completed several water transmission and distribution projects associated with the North Douglas County and Carson City Water Line Intertie. These projects had significant regional benefit by providing a reliable, high-quality water supply and interconnectivity between the Town, Douglas County, Indian Hills General Improvement District, and Carson City. Projects completed by RCI associated with the completion of the Intertie include the Lucerne Waterline Project, Well #9 and the Buckeye Booster Pump Station, Well #10 and the Heybourne Booster Pump Station, Amber Way Water Tank, and the Buckeye and East Valley waterline projects.
Maximum Water Quality & Production Capabilities
Along with typical design tasks and permitting associated with these projects, RCI’s role included public outreach meetings, pre-project and construction surveying, construction management, contract administration, and inspection and testing services, with special consideration of scheduling to minimize traffic delays, detours, and impacts to residents. In addition, the well projects required coordination of test well drilling, test well evaluation, and well design to maximize water quality and production capabilities.
Wellhead Protection
As part of our services, RCI has developed wellhead protection plans and developed water system mapping for the Town. This mapping is provided in a convenient atlas format and is readily accessible to Town staff.
