Annual Reviews
For over fifteen years, RCI has conducted annual reviews and classifications of the Town’s Streets as part of the Town’s Pavement Management System.
This information is used to develop the annual pavement maintenance and rehabilitation program. The regular budget for this work is typically $250,000 to $350,000 each year.
Agency Coordination
RCI’s work includes all design; surveying plans, specifications, inspection, testing and construction management. Improvements include upgrades as needed to meet ADA standards, NDOT permitting where Town streets meet US 395 and SR 88, traffic control plans, and coordination with agencies, including Douglas County, the Sheriff, Highway Patrol and NDOT District offices.
Proven Track Record
RCI has a proven track record of civil site design with streets, lighting, paving and drainage. As the Town Engineers, RCI has conducted all phases of the planning, design, construction management, and inspection services for multiple phases of the County Road Improvement Project, Well 7 and the Minden Gateway Project.
Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Highway Grant
The County Road Improvement Project was funded through an FHWA highway grant administered by NDOT. This project includes the installation of approximately 1240 feet of piping to enclose the existing irrigation/storm drain conveyance ditch running on the north side of County Road in Minden.
Protecting the Town’s Groundwater
The ditch is located within 1000 feet of three Minden production wells. Piping of the ditch will serve to further protect the Town’s groundwater sources from potential contamination. Sidewalk, landscaping, lighting, and corner ADA ramps have been designed or installed as part of the Town’s County Road streetscape.
