RCI Welcomes Zach Wood to our Survey Team

Resource Concepts is pleased to welcome Zach Wood to our survey team. Mr. Wood graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography. His studies also included GIS, land use planning, and earth science.

Zach worked 16 years for the Alpine County, California, Community Development Department. As a land use planner his duties included processing development applications for projects in the communities of Markleeville, Kirkwood and Bear Valley. Countywide land use policy work included hazard mitigation, transportation, and general planning/zoning revisions. Zach led the County use of GIS for wildfire mitigation, public works assets, and property addressing efforts. He represented Alpine County in partnerships and projects with regional partners, Washoe Tribe, US Forest Service, and other land management agencies. Working on the transfer of tribal cemetery land from Alpine County to the Washoe Tribe in 2020 was a feature accomplishment in his public service.

Zach serves on the Board of Directors for the Alpine Watershed Group, a water quality and citizen science non-profit organization. He enjoys trail building, cycling, and skateboarding pastimes. Some of his favorite places in the area are the Carson Valley Swim Center, Pine Nut range, and Woodfords Canyon.

Zach’s experience working directly in all aspects of local government community development and his enjoyment of our local area makes him an excellent addition to the RCI Survey team and our RCI family.

Please join us in welcoming Zach to RCI!
