Kings Canyon Community Trailhead Commemoration
RCI is pleased to announce the Kings Canyon Community Trailhead Commemoration ceremony on Wednesday, June 24th, at 8:30 am. It will take place at the trailhead at the western end of King Street in Carson City.
Speakers will present the new Kings Canyon/Waterfall Trailhead including informational kiosk, Firemen Memorial, trails, and signage. This new facility on Carson City Open Space and USFS land provides multi-use road and trail access for OHVs, bikes, hikers, and equestrians. It is also a beautiful place for reflection at the newly refurbished Fireman memorial. This project was an exceptional community collaboration including the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection [NDEP], Nevada Division of Forestry [NDF], Carson City Public Works, Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space, the U.S. Forest Service, Boy Scouts, Great Basin Institute, Washoe Zephyr Consulting, Resource Concepts, Inc., Basalite, and Tangerine Designs.
Please join us in the commemoration. Please note that parking is very limited so carpooling is essential.
