Kirkwood Meadows Power Line

RCI is providing construction management, inspection and testing services for a new power line to bring a reliable energy source to the Kirkwood Meadows. The new line consists of three miles of overhead power lines from the hydroelectric dam at Salt Springs Reservoir to Bear River Reservoir, where it transitions to 25 miles of underground power lines from Bear River Reservoir, along Highway 88, to Kirkwood Meadows. The 2-year construction process, which began in May of 2013, is scheduled to be fully completed in November 2014. Currently motorists who stop at the scenic lookout above Bear River Reservoir will get an exciting view of the project below as contractors work with heavy machinery to dig trenches for the underground segment while helicopters shuttle equipment and structures to crews on the mountain installing the overhead segment.
