Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Compliance

RCI has an interdisciplinary team with extensive knowledge of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) regulations and processes. This experience and knowledge includes intimate familiarity with the TRPA review process and standards on which projects are reviewed, environmental document requirements, TRPA environmental threshold carrying capacities, and site-specific best management practice design, as well as minimization and mitigation measures.

RCI has provided permitting and compliance services for property owners and projects within the Lake Tahoe Basin since the early 1980s, when the TRPA Board adopted environmental quality standards, called thresholds, which applied to all new projects in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Our familiarity with the TRPA regulations, including the TRPA Code of Ordinances, Goals and Policies Plan, and Community Plans facilitates smooth project planning and permitting.

RCI has successfully verified land capabilities on several hundred acres located in the Lake Tahoe Basin in accordance with Chapter 20 of the TRPA Code of Ordinances. Requiring field analysis of current site hydrology, soils, and vegetation – this land designation is used to regulate development and for the creation of impervious cover in the highly sensitive and regulated environments surrounding Lake Tahoe.
