Kristin Kvasnicka, PE, CPESC

Environmental Engineer

Ms. Kvasnicka was fortunate to join the RCI team as a high school intern, working through her summers while at the University of Nevada, Reno and was hired full time after graduation. She enjoys being a part of multidisciplinary projects spanning many of RCI’s departments, including engineering, environmental, and natural resources.

Fieldwork is one of Kristin’s favorite aspects of her job as an Environmental Engineer. Throughout Nevada, California and the Lake Tahoe Basin, she has collected surface water, ground water, soil, vegetation and invertebrate samples, conducted watershed, stream condition and aquatic assessments, inspected and managed construction sites for public utilities, and evaluated erosion control and stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) at ski resorts, industrial facilities, and construction sites.

Ms. Kvasnicka is passionate about sharing her environmental knowledge through outreach and education events for children and adults on topics ranging from source water protection to stormwater permit compliance to BMP implementation.
