Heavenly Ski Resort Water Quality Improvements

Heavenly Ski Resort Water Quality Improvements, Stateline, Nevada

Resource Concepts has provided extensive design and construction supervision for stormwater improvement projects at the Heavenly Ski Resort. The primary project objective was to achieve the storm water discharge standards within the Tahoe Basin via the construction of new facilities and upgrading existing storm water facilities. RCI professional services included three separate and similar projects: the Boulder Lodge, the California Lodge, and the Upper Shops.

The projects involved the segregation of off-site and on-site storm water runoff, design and installation of below grade stormwater collection/conveyance system and pre-treatment vaults, storm water treatment facilities and snow storage and treatment facilities. The stormwater treatment facilities are designed to remove ammonia and nitrates, phosphorous, oil/grease and suspended solids. The Upper Shops project also included restoration of approximately 300 feet of the ephemeral creek channel.
