GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

Resource Concepts, Inc. (RCI) is accepting applications for an experienced geotechnical engineer.

Applicants shall be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada, or have the ability to become licensed in the state within one year, have an educational and professional background in geotechnical engineering and geology, and have experience evaluating soil and foundation conditions, to include but not limited to, slope stability, settlement, foundation design and liquefaction, as they relate to site and building construction. Strong report writing and computational skills are required. Possession of a California P.E. license is a plus.

This is a project management position that requires being in responsible charge of all field exploration, laboratory testing and report writing, to include signing and stamping letters and reports; overseeing construction inspection and materials testing staff; client/project marketing, project budgeting, scheduling and invoicing; and, coordinating with our existing engineering and other professional staff.

The position is best suited for an experienced geotechnical engineer interested in working in a fast-paced site development environment, capable of effectively mentoring staff and growing our geotechnical, inspection and testing capabilities.

Applicants shall be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of Nevada or have the ability to become licensed within one year, have a minimum of three years of experience in site development, have a keen understanding of budgets and deadlines, be motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collectively.

The position is best suited for someone seeking a career in general site development. Work may involve permitting, design and construction inspection/management throughout northern Nevada, northern California and Lake Tahoe.

SENIOR CAD / SURVEY TECHNICIAN

SENIOR CAD / SURVEY TECHNICIAN

Key Details:

  • Full time year-round position, 40 hours a week.
  • Work day is typically 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
  • This is generally an office position; however, we would like someone who has some field experience, and is willing to go to the field on a fill in basis.
  • Based out of our Lake Tahoe office.
  • Experience in the Lake Tahoe and western Nevada region is a plus (experience with TRPA and County regulations in Douglas County, Washoe County, and Carson).

Resource Concepts, Inc. is looking for a career-oriented individual to provide technical support for our survey department in both field and office capabilities.  The successful applicant will have experience as a survey technician and be proficient with COGO and the use of AutoCAD.  Primary responsibilities will include the drafting of survey mapping for engineering design projects and record of survey maps, parcel maps, ALTA surveys, subdivisions, and other similar documents. Responsibilities will also include the preparation of calculations resulting from the interpretation of existing record maps and both architectural and engineering design documents for use by survey personnel in the field.

Secondary responsibilities will include performing field surveys as a crew member or party chief using robotic total stations and GPS equipment.  Experience with Drone surveying a plus.
