Resource Concepts, Inc. (RCI), is a multidisciplinary consulting firm, integrating expertise from such diverse disciplines as engineering, environmental services and natural resources. We are located in historic Carson City, Nevada, and Zephyr Cove, Nevada, and provide our services throughout the West.

Founded in 1978 by John McLain and Bruce Scott, our mission has been to serve both private and public clients by providing cost effective and innovative solutions. Our experienced staff understands the resources, people, and issues, and we are ready to assist you in your development or resource management needs. Our range of capabilities has steadily expanded over the years. We offer a wide range of technical services including:

RCI’s services extend from project identification through completion. We can be of assistance in project planning, permitting, baseline evaluation, feasibility assessment, conceptual and final design, construction monitoring, long-term monitoring, and project management, claims investigation, subrogation, and expert witness testimony.

Primary Objective

Regardless of the project phase in which RCI is involved, we promote communication with the client as a means of better understanding the project’s scope and objectives. This ensures that the scope of our work is appropriate to the task at hand and the client’s goals. We see communication as a central key to increasing our utility to the client. Communication also ensures that the client receives the most effective and efficient service available.

Staff Expertise

RCI continues to add and develop expertise in each of the aforementioned areas. Professional and technical staff members make the special effort necessary to stay abreast of significant developments in their respective fields. By so doing, they increase their knowledge, evaluate new techniques and materials, and learn to implement cost-effective, state-of-the-art approaches. Close working relationships with local, state and federal agencies continue to augment RCI’s ability to address issues in an expeditious manner.

Project Support

RCI is equipped to handle a wide variety of field and laboratory investigations. Document handling is facilitated by a modern computer facility capable of satisfying word processing, data management, graphic arts, surveying, and programming needs. We also maintain an extensive technical library as well as complete office automation and cartographic equipment.
