Serving as Engineer for the Town of Minden (TOM)
As the engineer for the Town of Minden since 1978, RCI has been responsible for street, storm drainage, and water system maintenance and improvement projects. Since taking on the position as Town Engineer, reconstruction of virtually every street has taken place in the Minden area. Reconstruction has involved street and intersection widening, pavement rehabilitation, and drainage system changes. New curbs, gutters, and sidewalks have also been a part of the renovation program.
RCI has provided water rights services for maintaining and expanding the Town’s water rights, in addition to completed modeling, designing, and inspecting the construction of new well, pressure tank, and pipeline facilities.
RCI reviews property improvement plans and construction related to street, storm drainage, or water systems. Any site development which impacts Town of Minden street and utility systems must comply with design regulations and the general plan. Also included is coordination with other public agencies either adjacent to or within the Town of Minden in order to avoid conflicts and realize any efficiencies available.
RCI has provided system modeling and guidance for the expansion of public water systems. RCI performs water rights work, as well as the design of system improvements, bidding and contract administration, construction inspection and testing, and consultation on system operation and maintenance. RCI has also been responsible for street, storm drainage, and water treatment improvement projects.
Serving as Engineer for the Minden-Gardnerville Sanitation District (MGSD)
Since 1978 RCI has served as the District Engineer for the Minden-Gardnerville Sanitation District located in Douglas County, Nevada. Expansion of the treatment plant capacity has been accompanied by the extension of the sewage collection system into new areas and accommodating new development. Planning, plan review, design, and construction inspection services for these elements were provided as well. Each new site development or facility expansion plan initiated within the district is reviewed for compliance with sewer design standards and the district’s general plan.
RCI has been involved in significant sewerline rehabilitation projects, many of which were funded by EPA Grants administered through the State of Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP). RCI performed all work including initial planning, completing grant applications, design, permitting, bidding and contractor selection, surveying, construction management, and inspection and testing.
