Winter Sunrise over Tonopah, Nevada

Recreation:

The Sierra snow pack is off to a great start! We are hoping for a good boating season for the Carson River. Carson River Aquatic Trail Maps developed by RCI in conjunction with Carson City and the Nevada Commission on Tourism are available at the Carson City Parks and Recreation Office, the Nevada Commission on Tourism building and at the Resource Concepts, Inc. office.

A Request for Bids for the Morgan Mill Road River Access project, a project designed by RCI, will be publicized early this winter. This project will provide access to the Carson River for boaters and the general public. The project will stabilize a portion of river bank as an added benefit.

Planning:

Resource Concepts, Inc. will start the New Year developing two Open Space Plans, one for Mineral County and one for Lincoln County.

Engineering:

Construction of Phase I of the Waterfall Fire Watershed Assessment project, designed by RCI, will commence early this winter. This project began in 2006 with site assessments of all of the watersheds on the west side of Carson City. The first phase will result in watershed improvements on city owned lands using money from a NRCS grant. Future phases will begin once funding becomes available.
